We’re hiring a Senior SDET to join the founding engineering team of a brand-new digital bank being built in partnership with a major Japanese financial group. This is a rare opportunity to shape banking-grade quality standards from day one, while working with the speed and mindset of a startup.

You’ll take a technical leadership role in quality engineering, focusing on API automation, CI/CD integration, and non-functional quality such as availability and performance.

Role Overview

As a Senior SDET, you will

• Drive modern QA strategies such as Shift Left
• Lead API test automation and test strategy design
• Embed quality deeply into CI/CD pipelines
• Help define quality standards for a digital bank from the ground up

Key Responsibilities Lead, design, review, and implement API test automation Define and continuously improve test strategies (API & integration) Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines from a quality perspective Ensure non-functional requirements (availability, performance, reliability)

Establish banking-domain quality standards

• Release criteria
• Severity definitions (Sev1–Sev3)
• Traceability & audit readiness
• Participate in design reviews, joint development, and postmortems
• Collaborate with overseas engineering teams in English

Required Skills & Experience 3+ years of software development experience Experience leading or mentoring in Dev or QA teams Strong experience creating test plans and test strategies Hands-on experience with API test automation (e.g. RestAssured, Karate) Bachelor’s degree in CS / IS or equivalent experience

Nice to Have Japanese language ability Experience considering system architecture & testability ISTQB Advanced-level knowledge Experience with AI development or AI-powered testing tools

Language Requirements

English: Business level (TOEIC 700+ or equivalent)
