Must-have skills

  • BS in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field; 1–3 years in cleaning processes, quality control, or material analysis.

  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and drive improvements; experience with quality methods or Lean Six Sigma is a plus (Black Belt a plus).

  • Familiarity with semiconductor/manufacturing processes and inspection tools is beneficial.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with audit methodologies, multi-site quality standardization, global supply chains.

  • Six Sigma certification, CAD proficiency, and experience with Jira/Confluence or Spotfire.

  • Knowledge of cleaning technologies and chemical processes.

Position Summary In your role as a Part Quality Engineer at Samsung, you will be responsible for delivering the highest quality parts and analytical insights to our FABs, working with a talented team to analyze data and troubleshoot chamber parts to pinpoint root causes, resolve complex quality issues and generate actionable results that drive continuous improvement, support Fab Operations by safeguarding incoming part quality and coordinating with repair vendors to enforce procedures, and ensure full compliance with SAS requirements and Samsung quality standards; your expertise will be pivotal in maintaining peak manufacturing performance and exceeding customer expectations. Role and Responsibilities Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For: Interaction and management of multiple clean parts for quality, technical support, improvements, root cause Interaction and management of multiple repair parts for quality and technical support, improvements, root‑cause investigations, and corrective/preventive action implementation. Work closely with various groups such as Fab engineering, Procurement, Operations, the Analysis Lab, and vendors to resolve issues. Proactively identify and implement part‑quality improvements while working closely with vendors, counterparts at other Samsung sites, and the FAB engineering team. Drive part‑related FAB investigations; provide an understanding of clean parts and their impact on FAB processing. Provide management and leadership toward repair‑parts issue resolution (SPC, data analysis, 8‑D development, and corrective). Collaborate with vendors to identify and implement preventive solutions for a proactive approach. Qualify new clean parts and changes, including vendor process‑change notifications, project planning, execution of qualification, and data analysis. Initiate and lead improvement teams, both internal and external to the department. Perform experiments, investigations, and evaluations utilizing statistical methods. Document all work accurately and promptly in the appropriate company systems. Complete projects promptly with strong attention to detail, and submit technical reports as required to support department KPIs. Create SOPs, optimize procedures, and mentor other engineers or operations team members on such items. Skills and Qualifications Here's what you'll need: Bachelors of Science Degree on Material Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering or an equivalent discipline. 1-3 years of experience. Ability to analyze data and identify trends and areas for improvement. Experience in cleaning processes, quality control, and material analysis are a plus with knowledge of cleaning technologies, chemical processes, .and quality control methods Experience in Semiconductor or high-volume technical manufacturing is a plus. Experience in wafer manufacturing and/or experience with global supply chains and multi-site quality process standardization is a plus. Experience in audit methodologies, gap analysis, and quality. improvement techniques such as Lean Six Sigma. Six Sigma Black Belt Certification a plus. Experience on Jira, Confluence, Spotfire, CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD), Python is not required but preferred. Experience with inspection tools such as: CMM, Surface Roughness Tester, XRF, Profilometer is a plus. All positions at Samsung Austin Semiconductor require you to be onsite. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
