Title: Lead Mainframe Tester
Location: Memphis, TN (All 5 days onsite)
Summary
- We are seeking an experienced Lead Mainframe Tester with strong expertise in Hogan, ALS, CACS, and ACAPS banking applications. The ideal candidate will have deep testing knowledge in core banking systems and proven leadership skills to coordinate with customers, business stakeholders, and internal teams. This role involves overseeing testing activities, driving quality, and ensuring smooth delivery of critical banking projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end testing activities for Hogan, ALS (Automated Lending System), CACS (Customer Account Control System), and ACAPS (Automated Credit Application Processing System) applications.
- Collaborate closely with customers, business analysts, developers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and define test strategies.
- Translate business and functional requirements into comprehensive test plans, scenarios, and test cases.
- Manage test execution, defect tracking, and closure while ensuring traceability to business requirements.
- Review test deliverables prepared by the team and ensure adherence to QA processes and standards.
- Coordinate with onsite/offshore teams and act as a single point of contact for testing deliverables.
- Ensure proper resource planning, workload distribution, and status reporting to project stakeholders.
- Provide UAT support, guide defect triage calls, and facilitate smooth releases.
- Identify process improvements and contribute to test automation or modernization initiatives in mainframe testing.
- Mentor junior testers and build team capability in domain and technical skills.
Required Skills

In-depth banking domain knowledge, especially in
- Hogan – Deposits and core banking modules.
- ALS – Loan servicing and processing.
- CACS – Collections and account management.
- ACAPS – Credit card application processing.
- Experience in test strategy, test planning, estimation, and team coordination.
- Proficiency in defect management and test management tools (e.g., HP-ALM, JIRA, qTest).
- Strong understanding of STLC, SDLC, Agile methodology, and QA governance.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in customer-facing roles and manage delivery expectations.
