Role & seniority: Automation Engineer, full-time, permanent; reports to the Automation Manager; 6-month probation; travel required; initially with a Senior Automation Engineer, then project team lead for nationwide clients.
Stack/tools: PLC programming (Allen Bradley, Siemens, ABB, Schneider, Omron); SCADA platforms (ICONICS, InTouch, Wonderware, WinCC or similar); HMI, telemetry, FAT/SAT testing; design/maintenance of Electrical Drawings, Software Drawings, FDS/OMMs; instrumentation/electrical equipment; OO programming; Microsoft Word/Excel.
Design, programming and implementation of PLC/HMI control systems; SCADA and telemetry designs.
Testing, commissioning and FAT/SAT of control panels and automation systems; ensure on-time delivery.
Project support including documentation, liaison with clients, vendors, and Project Managers; provide technical support to customers.
Degree in Electrical, Automation or Control Engineering (or equivalent).
~5 years post-qualification automation experience.
PLC programming experience with major vendors (Allen Bradley, Siemens, ABB, Schneider, Omron).
SCADA experience (ICONICS, InTouch, Wonderware, WinCC or similar).
Strong communication, English proficiency, problem-solving, and project-management abilities; driving licence.

CULLY are currently recruiting for an Automation Engineer for the Automation department. This is a full time and permanent role reporting to the Automation Manager and includes regular travel based on project needs. This position is subject to a 6-month probationary period. The Automation Engineer will be initially working on large utilities projects with a Senior Automation Engineer but will ultimately transition to the projects team supporting clients throughout the country. The candidate should have strong debugging skills with electrical/Instruments and computer knowledge, and the ability to deal with customer queries.
Job Responsibilities Assist in control and automation designs for projects related to the Water and Wastewater industry Preparation of project documentation including FDS and OMM's. Responsible for Systems, Software and Electrical Drawings Supporting all aspects of the control systems within projects and ensure all aspects are completed on time Design and programming of PLC/HMI control systems Design and implementation of SCADA systems Design and implementation of Telemetry systems Testing of control panels and automation systems including FAT and SAT Work on own initiative on smaller projects and work as part of a team on larger projects Liaise with the clients and Project Managers Liaise with system vendors to source automated solutions Provide technical support to existing customers
