Role & seniority: Plant automation subject-matter expert (senior/lead level) with responsibility for capital projects and strategy.
Stack/tools: OT architecture; control system standards (logic, HMI, alarm management, documentation); PLC/HMI/SCADA programming (expert level); Allen-Bradley ControlLogix; cross-functional/vendor collaboration; potential technologies: vision systems, robotics, APC, analytics.
Lead automation scope for major capital projects and mentor Level I/II engineers; support succession planning.
Architect and maintain control system standards; solve complex technical challenges; lead RCAs for high-severity events and implement permanent solutions.

Lead RCAs for high-severity events and implement permanent solutions. Mentor and develop Level I and Level II engineers; support succession planning and skill development. Partner with leadership on long-term automation strategy and capital planning. Expert-level PLC/HMI/SCADA programming and system architecture. Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage vendors. Strategic mindset with strong influence on plant reliability and efficiency. Solid understanding of plant processes (forming, drying, finishing).
IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?
Bachelor of Science in Engineering is preferred (Electrical Engineering is preferred) 5 + years (preferred) working within a Controls & Automation Engineering role in continuous process manufacturing plants, or similar “Hands-On” problem solver capable of providing on-site and remote support to multiple plants to solve complex automation-related issues and any difficult troubleshooting issues Programming of Allen Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix) is required.
