Conduct specific process audits such as

• CQI-9 Heat Treat System Assessments
• CQI-15 Welding System Assessments
• CQI-27 Casting System Assessments
• Support and/or lead activities for the annual IATF 16949 QMS audit, including preparation, evidence gathering, and response to findings.
• Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) & Special Processes

Eddy Current

• Measure and test parts to establish master parts.
• Secure quotes, manage POs, and coordinate EDM scribes for master parts.
• Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all Eddy Current masters and verify them at defined intervals (e.g., quarterly).
• Qualify new Eddy Current machines and new parts for Eddy Current inspection in production.
• Provide Level I and Level II certification training if applicable for shop floor personnel.

Liquid Penetrant

• Provide Level I and Level II certification training if applicable for shop floor personnel.
• Perform and coordinate required annual/periodic eye examinations for NDT personnel.
• Maintain applicable certifications (personal and process) and ensure compliance with internal and customer requirements for special processes.
• SPC & Data Analysis
• Conduct SPC training
• Support implementation, maintenance, and effective use of SPC software and tools across assigned processes.
• Analyze data from SPC and other data sources to identify trends, process variation, and opportunities for improvement.
• Recommend and help implement process adjustments and improvements based on data analysis and capability studies.
• Process Improvement & Six Sigma
• Plan and lead Six Sigma and other quality improvement projects as assigned by management, using standardized project management and problem-solving methodologies.
• Evaluate production and quality processes, recommending and/or implementing improvements to reduce defects, scrap, rework, and cost of poor quality.

Lead Quality Improvement Group (QIG) meetings

• Prepare agendas, data, and metrics.
• Facilitate discussions and root cause analysis.
• Maintain and manage the action item list and follow-up.
• Customer & Internal Support

Act as the liaison for best process control practices for designated customers/products

• Understand customer-specific requirements and how LEJ meets those requirements.
• Understand LEJ’s processes used to produce products for your specific customers.
• Provide recommendations on how parts must be controlled during processing to ensure compliance and capability.

Support activities associated with customer quality issues, including

• Return material analysis and reporting
• Containment actions and verification
• Root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
• Communicate effectively with customers on quality performance, issues, and improvement activities when required.
• Assist and act as a resource to inspection personnel and production teams (e.g., gage selection, measurement methods, interpretation of prints/specifications).
• Project Management & Standardization
• Manage multiple quality and improvement projects, using standard project management tools (agreed upon and streamlined across the company).
• Coordinate cross-functional teams (Engineering, Production, Maintenance, etc.) to execute corrective actions and improvement projects.

Participate in establishing and maintaining company-wide standards for

• SPC and statistical analysis software usage
• Problem solving and corrective action formats
• Training & Mentoring

Provide training and coaching in

• SPC principles and tools
• Basic quality tools and problem-solving methods
• NDT Level I practices (as applicable)
• Interpretation of GD&T, prints, and gaging methods (as needed)
• Serve as the “resident expert” in one or more assigned specialty topics (e.g., NDT, SPC, EC, APQP/PPAP), while maintaining basic proficiency across all core QE competencies.
• Help build a culture of quality and continuous improvement through regular communication, training, and support.
• Supplier Quality Involvement
• Participating in supplier qualification, audits, and performance reviews.
• Working with suppliers on PPAPs and corrective actions.
• New Product/Process Introduction (APQP)
• Participate in APQP core teams
• Track APQP progress on each customer platform/launch to be able to communicate cross functionally timeline needs

Other Duties

Perform other quality engineering and related duties as assigned by the Quality Manager.
