Role & seniority: Senior SDET I (FinTech/Payments focus) joining the engineering/QA team in Brazil.
Stack/tools: Payments/FinTech domain knowledge; SQL queries and script analysis; system logs; payment message/data formats; QA/testing tools (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, etc.); automation and manual testing; Postman; familiarity with transaction systems/tools (Visa, MasterCard, Amex, EFTlab, etc.); knowledge of PIN, CVV, reversals; platform documentation and release/change management.
Top 3 responsibilities

Monitor platforms for performance and SLA adherence; identify improvements and coordinate with teams.

Own platform knowledge, maintain customer/partner knowledgebases, and assist with deployment/production readiness.

Collaborate across stakeholders (Dev, QA, Analysts) on test design, data flows, and release planning; create/maintain test cases and documentation.
Must-have skills

2+ years in payments industry (roles such as System/Business Analyst, QA Engineer, Software Engineer, or Project Manager).

Strong SQL, log analysis, and ability to parse payment/data formats; testing (manual and automated); after-hours support, and effective communication.

Familiarity with payment networks and tools (Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Worldpay, Fiserv, etc.) and testing tools (Clear2Pay, Visa VTS, Paragon, EFTlab, jPos, Shift4); automation tool experience (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright); Postman scripting.

About This Opportunity
We are looking for a senior SDET I with a payments/fintech background to join the team! In this role, you will be responsible for continuously monitor assigned platforms for performance and operational excellence ensuring established SLAs are maintained and contributes recommendations for process and/or platform improvements. As an senior SDET I, you will also serve as an owner of the platforms and be knowledgeable of all operational and maintenance activities up to monitoring the efforts. This role is great for you if you have experience in the payments industry, and you have the proven ability to assess business needs and translate them into relevant solutions.
Responsibilities
Continuously monitor assigned platforms for performance and operational excellence ensuring established SLAs are maintained and contributes recommendations for process and/or platform improvements Exhibit a sense of ownership for assigned platform(s), and maintain/grow the knowledgebase of Clients, Merchants, and Users serviced by the platform Periodically survey platform customers to gage and drive improvements in customer satisfaction, where appropriate Create SQL queries and understand SQL scripts to enhance the platform and support customers. Parse, analyze and understand system log files Strong knowledge of payment message formats and data file formats associated with assigned platforms. Proactively monitor the performance of assigned platforms and raise potential performance or reliability issues to development and support teams to investigate / address, to avoid impact on system availability/customer experience Plan and coordinate payment solutions and enhancements with the development team Meet and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to establish project scope, system goals, and requirements Provides input on high-level design documents for data and message flows and detailed technical requirements Collaborate with QA testing in the research and writing of test cases along with participating in system testing Engaged in production deployment for coordination and verification as the owner of the platform Owner of platform and knowledgeable of all operational and maintenance activities up to monitoring the efforts Create and maintain platform documentation including process flows, design/architecture, operational playbooks, escalation procedures, and training materials as needed. Create Software Release and Change Management tickets as well as internal IT request tickets for system updates
Qualifications
2 years in the payment industry in one of the following roles as a System Analyst, Business Analyst, Project Manager, QA Engineer, or Software Engineer role Work effectively alone and in team environments with quality and timely results Demonstrated ability to develop strong partnerships with external teams Knowledgeable on payment message formats and data file formats associated with assigned platforms Knowledgeable of PIN processing, CVV, and Reversals Write test scripts and plans Performs automated and manual testing Create SQL queries and understand SQL scripts to enhance the platform and support testing.
