The Opportunity

  • Uphold is looking for a Quality Assurance Analyst to join our Engineering team. This role focuses on working closely with digital payment and crypto teams, ensuring that all existing and new integrations are working as expected. This is an incredibly exciting opportunity where you’ll get to work in a very friendly environment and be part of a well-motivated, talented and growing team. Combining latest technologies, agile way of working and the continuous striving for the best solution, here you’ll be responsible for the quality process of the Uphold products.
  • You will be responsible for the QA lifecycle, including planning, design, and execution of system testing. This includes working closely with the engineers, product managers and other QA team members to understand requirements, identify potential risks, and validate that the system behaves as expected. Your role is key in ensuring that the final product not only meets quality standards but is also reliable and fully functional.

Primary responsibilities

  • Collaborating with the Engineering team, working with an agile mindset.
  • Ensuring business requirements are correctly implemented, including validation of expected behaviour, edge cases, and error scenarios.
  • Contributing to the planning of testing activities, ensuring that the products are effective, accurate, suitable and free from defects, operational problems and errors.
  • Writing test specifications, test case scenarios, and performing continuous testing.
  • Test execution using API
  • Collaborating with Engineering throughout the development lifecycle, from requirements review to production validation.
  • Reviewing requirements and specifications to identify risks and test considerations.
  • Performing manual and exploratory testing
  • Clearly recording defects so they can be reproduced and resolved efficiently.
  • Creating and maintaining test documentation, logs, and test evidence.
  • Helping identify opportunities to improve the product
  • Assisting with troubleshooting issues across services and components.
  • Continuously contributing to grow our automation framework.
  • Creating and improving quality assurance policies and procedures.

Required qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in quality assurance or software testing, with hands-on exposure to backend and integration testing
  • Experience designing and executing test scenarios and test cases.
  • Experience with bug tracking tools and clear, reproducible defect reporting.
  • Ability to apply exploratory testing techniques and critical thinking.
  • Experience prioritising issues based on user impact and product context.
  • Basic knowledge of test automation techniques, frameworks and tools.
  • Understanding of quality attributes such as correctness, reliability, and consistency.
  • Experience working in agile or lean development environments.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and analytical thinking.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • A proactive mindset and genuine interest in improving product quality.
