This role sits within a high-performing Cloud and DevOps engineering function responsible for delivering scalable, high-quality software through modern automation, quality engineering, and cloud-native practices.
About the Role This is a comprehensive SDET position requiring strong C# development ability, advanced cloud knowledge, deep QA automation experience, and practical DevOps skills. You will help shape testing strategy, automation frameworks, release quality standards, and the end-to-end engineering lifecycle for highly scalable cloud systems. You’ll work across globally distributed teams and play a key role in elevating quality, security, performance, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain automated testing frameworks using C# and modern QA tooling.
Lead quality engineering practices across multiple cloud-based product teams.
Own test automation strategy across functional, performance, scalability, and reliability testing.
Define and implement test plans for complex cloud-first architectures.
Collaborate with Cloud DevOps teams to ensure CI/CD pipelines integrate robust automated quality gates.
Recommend and implement cloud-native testing tools and solutions.
Track, analyse, and report on key quality metrics, incidents, defects and improvements.
Lead root-cause analysis and guide teams in embedding quality early in the lifecycle.
Ensure all user stories and features are testable with clear acceptance criteria.
Conduct internal audits to maintain adherence to engineering and quality standards.
Drive Continuous Improvement efforts across engineering using LEAN principles.
Essential Qualifications
Strong C# development experience and ability to build high-quality automation frameworks.
Proven experience as an SDET or QA Automation Engineer in cloud-native environments.
Hands-on expertise with Azure or AWS cloud services.
Strong understanding of performance, scalability, and reliability testing for distributed systems.
Experience with CI/CD, DevOps pipelines, and source control (Git or similar).
Proficiency in root-cause analysis, incident management, and quality best practices.
Experience supporting or leading remote, globally distributed QA teams.
Ability to design new processes, make independent decisions, and drive engineering quality forward.
Desirable Experience
Automation in complex microservices or containerised environments.
Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code, DevOps culture, and release engineering.
Experience working within cloud DevOps teams to support continuous delivery.
