Location: Onsite in Kyle, TX
Type: 6-12 month contract
Our client seeking a SDET to drive quality and automation across its engineering organization. This role plays a key part in validating the performance and accuracy of complex C++ simulation systems. You’ll leverage strong development skills to build and enhance automated testing frameworks that protect product stability and reliability.
Key Responsibilities Build and maintain robust automated unit tests in C++ using frameworks such as Google Test to validate core functionality Create and manage requirements traceability to ensure full test coverage across system specifications Partner with engineering and project stakeholders to review requirements and maintain accurate validation documentation Develop and optimize CI/CD workflows (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions) to automate builds, testing, and deployment Enforce code quality standards through automated formatting, static checks, and documentation tools Gain deep understanding of the company’s flight simulation software to inform comprehensive test strategies
Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of experience in software development or SDET roles with a strong emphasis on automation Solid C++ skills and strong grasp of object-oriented design principles Experience writing and maintaining unit/integration tests using modern frameworks (gtest, Catch2, or similar) Experience implementing automated build and test pipelines Strong knowledge of SDLC processes and software quality best practices Experience leveraging AI tools to improve development efficiency Experience with requirements tracking or ALM tools (e.g., Jama, Jira, Polarion) Exposure to aviation, simulation, or other real-time systems - big plus! Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps environments
