In this role you will play a pivotal role in helping to establish a sustainable and repeatable transaction testing function to help ensure the Bank’s regulatory and risk reporting is based on strong data quality in financial transactions and adheres to report instructions and Bank standards. Job Details Position Title: Lead Analyst – Transaction Testing Career Level: P3 Job Category: Lead Analyst Role Type: Hybrid Job Location: Bangalore About the Team: Collaborates closely with Regulatory Reporting, Accounting, Finance, Internal Audit, Compliance, and business operations teams to validate transactions, resolve exceptions, strengthen internal controls, and ensure accurate and compliant reporting. The Transaction Testing team member collaborates closely with Regulatory Reporting, Accounting, Finance, Internal Audit, Compliance, and business operations teams to validate transactions, resolve exceptions, strengthen internal controls, and ensure accurate and compliant reporting. Impact Transaction Testing work with Regulatory Reporting to validate that the information reported on the bank’s regulatory reports is consistent with the loan documents and the information in the loan systems to ensure good data quality in our report. Upon completion of testing by the India-based team, stakeholder begin compiling the findings into a comprehensive report, which will subsequently submitted to the Regulatory Reporting team. Key Deliverables Provide end-to-end support to the 1LOD Transaction Testing function responsible for substantively reviewing a sample of financial transactions reported in the Bank’s regulatory and risk reports. Extract and analyze large datasets of the Bank’s financial transactions included in key reporting and implement a risk-based approach to define the review scope, including the identification of anomalies in critical data elements that may indicate data quality issues that necessitate further testing. Perform Adherence reviews on the Bank’s regulatory reporting tool to validate sampled financial transactions are complete and accurate. Review and interpret data lineage and logic used to compile Bank data for reporting to ensure financial transactions and related critical data elements are represented in a manner that complies with bank and regulatory requirements. Prepare Adherence reports summarizing the results to key stakeholders and create sufficient workpaper documentation in accordance with Enterprise Control & Assurance procedures. Develop and consistently demonstrate an understanding of the Bank’s financial transaction data (e.g., loans, deposits, securities) included in reporting. Partner with key stakeholders in regulatory reporting, finance, and technology to ensure consistent definitions exist for critical data elements in accordance with reporting standards. Stay abreast of changes in banking regulations and reporting requirements (e.g., FDIC, FRB, FFIEC) to ensure transaction testing aligns with current regulations, industry standards, emerging trends, and overall leading practices. Work independently and collectively with peers. Demonstrate critical thought, attention to detail, and a natural curiosity to help drive solutions and create value-add results. Skills and Qualification Functional Skills: Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 8 years of experience performing data analysis in one or more of the following areas within the Banking or Financial Services Industries: Audit, Regulatory Reporting, Compliance, Loan File Reviews. Familiarity with regulatory reporting (FR Y-14, FR Y-9C, FR 2052a), including exposure to commercial and retail bank data involving different financial products (e.g., deposits, loans, securities, etc.). Experience in data profiling and analysis skills involving projects with a high complexity. Proven ability to analyze and interpret large datasets of financial transactions with attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex scenarios and ideas clearly and succinctly and sufficiently document workpapers supporting the work performed. Effectively manage multiple, sometimes conflicting, priorities with an ability to adapt to change and apply problem solving skills to produce value-add results. Technical Skills: Strong experience in data extraction and analysis tools (SQL, Python, Excel, Collibra Data Governance, MS Office) and exposure to regulatory reporting tools (Axiom).
