The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring the effectiveness of internal activities related to incoming inspection, process control, and quality assurance for products shipped to our customers. This role involves planning, implementing, and coordinating prevention, control, and quality assurance activities to meet the quality expectations of both our customers and the company.
Maintaining quality systems, procedure and policy compliance, and continued conformance to AS9100D and requirements Represents PDS during Customer, 3rd party and agency audits, ensure corrective/preventive action system is effective for internal and external problems. Function as primary liaison for Quality for Reynosa in order to resolve quality issues, enable positive channels of communication, and ensure customer satisfaction. Provide engineering support to operations ensuring consistent application of quality techniques. Ensure quality manual and procedures meet standards of AS9100 and other specified customer requirements. Manage corrective action system by providing status on internal and external corrective action, ensure responses are adequate to prevent recurrence of nonconformance and report progress of program to management. Develop quality plans for new product introduction based on Quality principles. Prepare first article reports in accordance with AS9102 and customer specific requirements. Review Engineering Orders and participate in new design product/design review in order to ensure quality requirements are identified and captured in appropriate documentation. Participate in MRB activity for and assist in corrective action. Resolve quality issues by identifying problems, examining solution options, implementing action plans, and providing resources. Facilitate and promote use of appropriate problem-solving techniques for effective root cause analysis and successful corrective and preventive actions, employing various quality tools such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and DMAIC, process capability analysis etc. Assist Director of Quality in establishing, implementing and maintaining the quality management system at Reynosa.Perform duties in accordance with quality system requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including NPI and transfer projects. Coordinate and participate in product and process validation activities and Process Audits.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, etc.). 5+ years in the Manufacture Industry as Quality Engineer, knowledge of production processes or related experience. Communication skills (Spanish & English) Strong knowledge of IPC‑A‑610 and J‑STD‑001 standards.
Solid expertise in Core Tools: PFMEA, SPC, MSA. Knowledge and practice of ISO9001 preferably AS9100 (Internal Audits). Knowledge and practice of problem-solving methods such 8D, 5 why, LEAN or another quality tools existing method in the manufacturing industry. Variation analysis techniques and process evaluation (PFMEA and Process Control Plan). Knowledge of Statistical Process Control, preferred. Interpretation of Engineering drawings interpretation (knowledge of geometric tolerances - GDT). Management of equipment for product validation. Knowledge of measuring tools. Green/Black Belt certification is a plus. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools.
