Akkodis is seeking a Selenium Automation Engineer - Java for a Contract with a client in Jersey City, NJ / Dallas, TX / Tampa, FL. You will design and execute robust UI test frameworks and lead backend API automation using Rest Assured/Karate to ensure end‑to‑end test coverage.

Rate Range: $37/hour to $45/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Selenium Automation Engineer - Java Job Responsibilities Include

Design, develop, and maintain robust frontend automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver and Java to ensure reliable UI test coverage. Lead backend API automation efforts with Rest Assured or Karate, creating reusable test components and validating REST endpoints effectively. Perform comprehensive database testing using JDBC/JPA across Oracle, DB2, and Snowflake, including writing complex SQL queries for data validation. Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using Git, Bitbucket, and Jenkins to support continuous testing and faster delivery cycles. Document defects, track progress, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams using tools such as JIRA and Microfocus ALM. Troubleshoot automation failures, optimize test performance, and enhance framework scalability to improve overall testing efficiency.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline. 8–10 years of experience in automation testing with strong proficiency in Java. Expert, hands‑on experience with Selenium WebDriver and backend API automation using Rest Assured or Karate. Strong SQL and database testing experience using JDBC/JPA across Oracle, DB2, or Snowflake, along with familiarity in tools like JIRA, ALM, Git, and Jenkins.

Pay Details: $37.00 to $45.00 per hour
