Full Description

Role Overview We are seeking an experienced HMI Specialist with strong optics and visualization expertise to support the design, development, and deployment of advanced HMI solutions using the latest platform from Rockwell Automation. The role focuses on delivering intuitive, high-performance human–machine interfaces for complex industrial systems, with a particular emphasis on optics-driven visualization, usability, and modern UI/UX standards. This is a hands-on, project-based role offering exposure to next-generation HMI technologies and the opportunity to transition to a permanent position. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain HMI applications using Rockwell’s new HMI platform Develop advanced visualization solutions incorporating optics-related data, graphics, and real-time system feedback Create intuitive, user-centric HMI layouts that enhance operator usability, safety, and system performance Integrate HMI applications with PLCs, control systems, and industrial networks Collaborate closely with controls, electrical, mechanical, and software teams to ensure seamless system integration Support system testing, FAT/SAT activities, commissioning, and on-site troubleshooting as required Ensure HMI designs align with industry standards, best practices, and customer requirements Contribute to continuous improvement of HMI templates, libraries, and development standards Provide technical support and documentation for deployed HMI systems Required Qualifications & Experience Degree or equivalent qualification in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline Proven experience developing HMIs in industrial or automation environments Hands-on experience with Rockwell’s latest HMI platform Strong understanding of optics, visualization principles, and graphical data representation Experience integrating HMIs with Rockwell PLCs and control architectures Solid understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g. EtherNet/IP) Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Desirable Skills & Experience Experience with modern UI/UX design principles applied to industrial HMIs Background in vision systems, optical inspection, or imaging-based automation Familiarity with scripting, object-oriented HMI development, or reusable component libraries Experience working in regulated or standards-driven industries Previous experience in a contract or fast-paced project environment
