We are seeking an experienced WordPress Website Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist to join our team on a contract or part-time basis. In this role, you will independently review development and staging sites built on WordPress using Elementor, ensuring they align perfectly with the provided web designs. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with attention to detail and deep expertise in WordPress, Elementor, and web development best practices, requiring almost no training. Your keen attention to detail will help maintain high standards of functionality, design fidelity, and SEO optimization.
What Does a WordPress Website Quality Assurance Specialist do?
Conduct thorough QA reviews of dev/staging WordPress sites post-development, comparing them against original web designs for accuracy in layout, styling, and functionality. Verify that all elements translate correctly from design to build, including responsive behavior across devices (desktop, tablet, mobile). Ensure accessibility and usability standards are met, such as adding appropriate Alt text to all images in the media library. Check that all buttons, links, and interactive elements are properly linked and functional. Optimize on-page SEO by entering accurate meta titles, descriptions, and keywords using Yoast SEO for every page. Identify and document any discrepancies, bugs, or improvements in a clear, actionable task via ClickUp. Test for cross-browser compatibility, loading speeds, and basic security best practices. Perform additional checks as needed, such as form functionality, widget integrations, and content consistency.
Required Qualifications
Proven experience (2+ years) in QA for WordPress websites, with expert-level knowledge of Elementor page builder. Strong understanding of web design principles and how they translate to functional, developed sites. Familiarity with WordPress core features, plugins (e.g., Yoast SEO), themes, and the media library. Exceptional attention to detail and ability to spot inconsistencies in design, code, or user experience. Ability to work independently without guidance on navigation, tools, or processes Proficiency in tools like browser dev tools, Lighthouse, or similar for performance and accessibility audits. Excellent communication skills for reporting findings clearly and concisely.
Preferred Skills
Experience with additional WordPress plugins (e.g., ACF, CPT, etc.) Knowledge of HTML/CSS for quick spot-checks or suggestions. Background in UI/UX design or front-end development to better evaluate design-to-build fidelity. Remote work experience, as this role is flexible and location-independent.
