We are seeking a Junior QA Engineer to help maintain the quality and operational integrity of our systems, ensuring that every solution we deliver reflects the precision and professionalism that define our client's work.

The ideal candidate will contribute to the end‑to‑end quality assurance process across diverse product ecosystem. The role involves writing and executing test cases, performing functional and regression testing, validating business workflows ensuring reliability, stability and quality across various system components.

Position Title: Junior QA Engineer

Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Department: Engineering

Reports to: Technical Lead

Key Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and maintain manual test cases using Azure DevOps Test Plans.
• Conduct functional, regression and exploratory testing for systems, mobile apps, web apps and APIs.
• Perform API testing using Postman, including validations for authentication, error handling, transaction processing and settlement flows.
• Use k6 for performance and load testing.
• Log, track and retest issues using Azure DevOps Boards or Jira.
• Validate features across end‑to‑end workflows.
• Participate in testing integrations with external partners such as payment providers, banks and other third‑party service systems where applicable.
• Assist in creating and updating QA documentation (test cases, test reports, quality metrics).
• Support automated testing efforts as needed (UI, API, or regression).
• Collaborate closely with developers, DevOps engineers and product managers to ensure smooth releases.

Requirements

Technical Competencies 2+ years of experience in software QA or related fields. Understanding QA methodologies, SDLC, and defective lifecycle.

Proficiency in: Azure DevOps for test case management, defect tracking, Postman REST API testing and k6 for load and performance testing Basic understanding of scripting (JavaScript, Python, or similar). Exposure to automation frameworks (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress) is a plus. Familiarity with version control systems (Git). Understanding of high‑availability systems, including those used in real‑time processing environments (e.g., financial, commerce, or enterprise systems). Soft Skills Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. High attention to detail and accuracy. Good communication skills for reporting defects and collaborating across teams. Ability to learn fast and work in a dynamic fin-tech ecosystem. A team-oriented mindset with a proactive attitude.
