Position Purpose Statement The primary goal of the Senior Automation Test Engineer at MyPass Global is to ensure the quality and reliability of our software products by planning and maintaining automated test scripts. This role aims to enhance the efficiency of our testing processes and support the delivery of high-quality software solutions.

The Senior Automation Test Engineer will contribute to and progress the existing automation test suites. You will periodically review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to ensure compliance. As a Senior Automation Test Engineer, you will analyze test results, identify, document, and report root causes for test failures by working with the development team within Bitbucket & JIRA.

Senior Automation Test Engineer will collaborate with the project team to identify opportunities for process, tools, and test methodology improvements, and assist in implementing initiatives and ideas. \n

Your Day to Day

Test Strategy and Planning

• Develop test automation strategies, plans, and approaches for various projects with development and product teams.
• Conduct regression testing, generate test coverage reports, and contribute to the improvement of the testing framework and processes.
• Analyse requirements and scope to identify potential risks and testing needs.
• Apply Agile methodologies including Scrum, and Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI / CD) practices.

Test Execution and Documentation

• Create, document, and implement test cases using tools like Playwright, Selenium, JIRA, TestNG, Jenkins, and Git.
• Design, develop, and maintain the API, functional and non-functional automation test suites.
• Thorough understanding of regression, smoke, and end-to-end testing.
• Support reviewing test cases for Automation Test Engineers while you continue with documentation of test plans, and test results.

Defect Management and Reporting

• Participate in code reviews to provide insights from a testing perspective.
• Generate detailed test results reports for stakeholders, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure timely resolution of identified defects.

• Technical Skills and Tools
• Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes with exposure to UI testing and test-driven development strategies.
• Exposure to Security testing.
• Proficiency in test automation tools (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, TestNg) and API testing tools (e.g., Postman, Swagger)
• Act as a subject matter expert in SaaS-based products and AWS technologies.
• Understand Non-functional Testing
• Understand continuous integration tools like Jenkins or CircleCI.
• Experience with Test Management tools such as Xray, Testrail.
• Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git, Bitbucket).
• Coordinate releases with the Lead Software Engineer and the project team.
• Stay updated on emerging testing technologies, methodologies, and best practices.

Programming Languages

• Expert in Java, Python, or JavaScript / TypeScript.
• Experience in implementing testing frameworks like Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, JUnit, Jest, WebDriverIO, Playwright or similar.

Soft Skills and Personal Qualities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to understand their expectations and requirements.
• Support the Automation Test Engineers, fostering a quality and continuous improvement culture.
• Drive the adoption of Agile frameworks within the team to increase efficiency and flexibility.
