Role & seniority: Data Quality Engineer, full-time, within the Technology team (Australia-based role with remote/hybrid options)
Stack/tools: Python; SQL; relational databases; Microsoft Excel; data governance practices
Monitor, analyze, and validate large datasets to identify inconsistencies, anomalies, and errors
Investigate root causes of data discrepancies and implement corrective actions; develop/refine data validation processes
Collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to resolve data integrity issues and automate anomaly detection/error correction; ensure governance compliance
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or related field
Proficiency in Python and SQL; strong Excel skills; attention to detail; problem-solving ability

About the Role While the Data Quality Engineer is a part of the Technology team, you will work closely with the Portfolio Management team to identify and resolve inconsistencies and refine data validation processes. You’ll also collaborate to automate anomaly detection, address data issues, and ensure compliance with data governance standards.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Industry experience in finance, desirable but not mandatory. Experience with programming languages such as Python Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with relational databases.
