Salary: $16 / hour
Role & seniority: Part-time, student position in Welding & Nondestructive Testing programs; entry-level; under general or intermittent supervision.
Stack/tools: Welding equipment and tools; related program credentials (Welding OEC/Advanced Welding OEC, AAS in Technology with Welding emphasis, BA in Applied Technologies and Leadership); AWS certifications (preferred); WELD A101 (preferred).
Support welding technology classes and lab activities.
Operate or assist with welding equipment under supervision.
Participate in program-related tasks and training as assigned.
Knowledge of welding tools and equipment.
High school graduate or equivalent.
Minimum 1 year experience with tools/equipment used in welding.
Ability to work under general or intermittent supervision.
AWS certifications (preferred).
Completion status: Welding OEC completed or pursuing Advanced Welding OEC; enrolled in AAS in Technology (Welding) or BA in Applied Technologies and Leadership with ≤1 year remaining (or >1 year for some classifications).
Location & work type: University of Alaska system; part-time up to 20 hours/week during the academic term; additional hours possible during summer/winter breaks; starting pay $16.00/hr (higher may apply with advanced qualifications).

Students that are enrolled in the BA in Applied Technologies and Leadership with less than or equal to one year completion.
AWS certifications preferred. Successful completion of WELD A101 preferred.
Position Details
This is a part-time position up to 20 hours per week while school is in session. Additional hours may be available during the summer and winter breaks. Starting hourly rate is $16.00/hr.
Students who have completed their Welding OEC, and are enrolled in the Advanced Welding OEC.
Students that are enrolled in an AAS in Technology with an emphasis in Welding with more than one year completion.
Students that are enrolled in the BA in Applied Technologies and Leadership with more than one year completion.
Dual program enrolled students with more than one year completion.
