Software Quality Engineer (Associate, Experienced, & Senior) Company: The Boeing Company The Boeing Company is looking for an Experienced Software Quality Engineer to join our Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) organization in Berkeley, Missouri. Our team of highly motivated, customer-focused engineers’ partner with BDS programs to help develop and maintain a culture of first-time quality throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC). As a member of this team, you have the autonomy and responsibility to work with programs to assure the process for developing, controlling, and verifying software products is planned and executed, effectively improving the quality of our software products – whether developed by Boeing or provided by suppliers. The quality engineers will utilize their software development and process expertise to effectively guide and influence project decisions. The selected candidate must work well with minimum direction, be self-motivated, with strong written and verbal communication skills, along with well-developed interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate and maintain a psychologically safe work environment. Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Associate, Experienced and Senior Level Software Quality Engineers. Position Responsibilities: Defines and maintains large scale program software quality engineering processes, resources and infrastructure Leads process improvement activities Supports development of organization policies, procedures, infrastructure and metrics to support business objectives Prepares and presents information at formal review meetings Plans and develops proposals and cost estimates Reviews supplier proposals and makes software quality source selection recommendations Leads review and approval of software life cycle documents and program products Plans and leads initial baseline internal or supplier, large complex audits of software engineering processes and associated support functions Participates in configuration management activities Reviews deviations and waivers to the software baseline Participates in the selection and approval of automated configuration management tools and processes Improves products and processes and manages risk Plans software quality test activities and completion of test readiness activities Ensures integrity of the test process Verifies test results Works with regulatory agencies and other functions to develop criteria and procedures for software delivery activities Leads final reconciliation of complex software data products Develops program specific software quality requirements for flow down to suppliers Plans and verifies acceptability of supplier's software quality systems and programs Performs software acceptance and delivery activities Analyzes data to identify trends in non-compliances and initiates system level corrective and preventive actions Identifies non-conformances and issues corrective actions Reviews and approves corrective and preventive action plans Verifies effectiveness of corrective and preventive action plans Reports non-conformance and corrective action data to appropriate management Works under minimal direction This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site at one of the listed location options. This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. Ability to obtain interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance (Post-Start).
