Role & seniority: Senior/Staff-level role in MIG BEST (Baseline Engineering & System Test) team at Cisco; within SP Routing portfolio of XR-based products.
Stack/tools: Networking protocols and architectures (ISIS, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, L2VPN, L3VPN, EVPN, SR-TE, SRv6, MPLS-TE, Multicast), network management tools, third-party traffic generators/emulators; software QA and automation (Python, REST, Jenkins), Linux; data models and network manageability.
Design, develop, automate and verify new hardware/features across complex networks; implement functional, interoperability, and customer use cases.
Define/end-to-end solution architectures; debug complex network issues and propose solutions; engage in analytics and automation work from customer use cases.
Drive continuous improvement and transformation with quality at the center; collaborate across geographies and with customers, and manage collaborators.
4–6 years in systems/solution testing or related software test experience.
Strong networking knowledge (L2–L7 technologies) and familiarity with Linux; problem-solving skills.
Experience with Python automation, REST, Jenkins; strong software design/development skills.
Experience with network management tools/data models; excellent communication and accountability.
Exposure to data models and network manageability.
Industry certifications (CCNA/CCNP/CCIE/JCNA/JCIE) a plus.
