Role & seniority: Test Lead – Data Migration (lead level, hands-on governance)

We partner with tier-one organisations across Australia, providing strong governance, delivery oversight, and practical quality leadership across large-scale transformation programs. We are currently seeking an experienced Test Lead with strong Data Migration experience to support a major enterprise client in Melbourne.
The Opportunity This role sits within a large transformation program where data migration is critical to overall delivery success. You will lead the testing strategy and execution across data migration streams, ensuring validation, reconciliation, and governance controls are robust and audit-ready. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong stakeholder engagement and deep understanding of migration risk.
Key Responsibilities Data Migration Leadership Lead end-to-end testing across data migration phases Define migration test strategy, scope, and coverage Oversee data validation, reconciliation, and defect management Ensure data integrity across source and target systems
Governance & Oversight Review and approve key artefacts including Test Strategy, Test Plan, and Test Summary Reports Ensure strong traceability between requirements, mapping rules, and validation outputs Identify migration risks early and drive mitigation actions Provide clear reporting to program stakeholders
Stakeholder Engagement Work closely with business, data, and technical teams Collaborate with delivery leads to ensure migration milestones are met Support go-live readiness and cutover activities
Required Experience Proven experience as a Test Lead within large enterprise environments Strong hands-on experience in data migration testing Experience validating data transformation and reconciliation processes Strong SQL skills and understanding of data structures Experience across both Agile and Waterfall delivery models Strong risk identification and stakeholder communication capability
