The Agile Tester serves as the quality advocate within an Agile development team, ensuring that all deliverables meet business and technical expectations. This role collaborates closely with developers, business analysts, and product owners to plan, design, execute, and validate both manual and automated test scenarios derived from user stories and acceptance criteria.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product owners to understand user stories, acceptance criteria, and business goals. Design, document, and execute comprehensive manual and automated test cases based on user stories and requirements. Participate actively in Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) to align on priorities and ensure quality integration at every stage. Identify, document, and track software defects using Agile tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps). Contribute to continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines by implementing and maintaining automated tests. Validate bug fixes, regression tests, and feature functionality before release to production. Work closely with developers to clarify issues, verify fixes, and prevent defect recurrence. Maintain test environments, datasets, and scripts to support repeatable, reliable test cycles. Advocate for quality assurance best practices and continuous process improvement across the Agile team. Provide input to refine acceptance criteria and testing strategies during sprint planning.
