We are hiring for Senior Test Engineer – Secure Cloud Environments.

Location is Reading Role is Full time

What you’ll be doing

Deliver system, integration, and end-to-end testing across cloud-based platforms and services.- Design and execute test scenarios aligned to functional, non-functional, and integration requirements.- Validate integrations between services, components, and external systems.- Work closely with engineers, architects, and delivery leads to identify defects early and support root cause analysis.- Support UAT, security testing, and assurance activities where required.- Provide clear evidence of test coverage, risks, and outcomes.- Contribute to incident investigation, troubleshooting, and defect resolution.- Operate effectively within an Agile delivery environment.- Communicate testing progress, risks, and issues clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

What we’re looking for

We are looking for an experienced Test Engineer to support delivery across cloud-based, secure government platforms.

This is a hands-on test role with a strong focus on integration, system, and end-to-end testing. Some proficiency in test automation or scripting is beneficial, particularly where it supports integration testing and repeatability

Proven experience as a Test Engineer on complex digital or technology programmes.- Strong background in integration and system testing.- Experience working in secure or regulated environments (e.g. government, defence, critical national infrastructure).- Ability to understand technical architectures and design effective test scenarios.- Experience working closely with delivery, engineering, and assurance teams.- Strong written and verbal communication skills.- Willingness to work hybrid with on-site presence in Corsham. Desirable Experience- Experience testing cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or equivalent).- Exposure to identity and access management (IAM) concepts such as authentication, authorisation, MFA, SSO, RBAC.- Experience testing integration-heavy solutions involving multiple systems and data flows.- Familiarity with networking fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP).- Some proficiency in test automation, scripting, or tooling to support integration and regression testing in cloud environments.- Experience working within public sector delivery and assurance frameworks.
