Position Overview
Looking for an experienced QA Analyst with an automotive finance background to validate mainframe upgrades to the Customer Account Servicing System (CASS) through the CAP release (Customer Account Servicing System Application Package Release) process. This role ensures account servicing functions remain correct, compliant, and performant by executing RSECS-driven (Release Sections, i.e. individual code changes or functional updates bundled into CAP release) test planning, Quality Center script-based manual testing, Full File Production Parallel (FFPP) batch comparisons, and structured test enhancements for homegrown modules.
CAP bundles together multiple RSECS into a single release for production deployment. The CAP release ensures Compliance with regulatory requirements, Performance and stability of account servicing functions and Integration of client-specific customizations and homegrown modules.
The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong attitude toward understanding and working within highly complex systems and thrives in mainframe testing environments
What Will They Be Working On
CAE Application Installation and Maintenance, CAE HPC Job Submission Script Maintenance, System Patching and Maintenance, Task Automation
What You Will Be Doing
Analyze CAP bundles and classify RSECS into Enhancements, Regulatory, and Corrections; select the appropriate test method (SCRIPT, FFPP, or FFPP-possible). Determine client usage of impacted processes (homegrown vs. base code) and recommend whether changes are applied, commented, or excluded; define regression scope accordingly. Plan and execute tests when incoming fixes differ from client’s prior implementation (not line-for-line). Author and run manual scripts (test plans) in Quality Center for AF batch and online components—covering calculations, error handling, cross-screen integrity, end-of-term scenarios, and interface impacts. Run FFPP by replaying a production day’s files through batch; reconcile output deltas to the applicable RSECS and document explanations. Plan, execute, and document test enhancements alongside base changes—covering small improvements and client custom/homegrown modules to ensure compatibility and stability. Coordinate business review for Regulatory items and relevant Enhancements; capture approvals and traceability to test results and release notes. Maintain audit-ready documentation linking RSECS → scripts → defects → sign-offs; follow AHM Test Management and change control practices. Identify, record, and communicate defects; drive root-cause analysis and escalation; partner with developers and operations to harden batch schedules and interfaces. Curate test data (batch input files, accounts) and manage credentials/environments for mainframe AF testing.
What’s Needed
Bachelor’s in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent experience. 3-5+ years of mainframe QA/testing across batch, online, and interfaces in financial services, preferably automotive finance.
Hands-on with CAP practices: RSECS analysis, QC/ALM script authoring, FFPP execution, and planning of test enhancements for homegrown modules. Proficiency in mainframe job control, batch scheduling, and data/file comparison tooling; familiarity with account servicing life cycle. Experience validating client custom/homegrown modules and minor enhancements alongside base changes. Defect management, reporting, and root-cause analysis; ability to communicate technical findings clearly to business stakeholders. Positive attitude toward understanding and navigating highly complex systems and processes. Discipline with change control, traceability, and audit readiness.
