Role Summary

A meticulous Localization Tester responsible for validating software builds in German or French. This role ensures that localized versions of the product meet linguistic, functional, and UI standards. The tester will identify and report bugs via JIRA directly to SAS team.

Key Responsibilities

• Each Localization Tester must perform all of the responsibilities listed below.
• Review and test software builds in German and French environments.

Identify and document localization issues, including

• Truncated or overflowing text;
• UI misalignment due to language expansion;
• Encoding problems (e.g., special characters not rendering correctly); and
• Contextual mismatches or cultural inaccuracies.
• Perform exploratory and regression testing focused on language-specific UI.
• Log detailed bug reports in JIRA, including reproduction steps, screenshots, and severity.
• Collaborate with SAS developers and Centific localization teams to clarify issues and verify fixes.
• Collaborate with the SAS translation teams.
• Validate fixes in subsequent builds and ensure no regressions.

Required Skills

Each Localization Tester must possess all of the following skills

• Native or fluent proficiency in German or French;
• Strong understanding of localization and internationalization principles;
• Linguistically precise and culturally aware;
• Experience with bug tracking tools, particularly JIRA;
• Familiarity with software quality assurance methodologies and agile workflows;
• Attention to detail and ability to spot subtle linguistic or UI inconsistencies;
• Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, or UI frameworks;
• Proactive communicator with a collaborative mindset;
• Comfortable working independently and managing multiple builds; and
• Passionate about delivering polished, user-friendly localized experiences.
