Role & seniority: IT QA Intern; internship for a rising senior (undergrad) student.
Stack/tools: SDLC (Waterfall/Agile) familiarity; Oracle SQL; Java or Python; software testing and automation; test case management; defect tracking; cross-functional collaboration tools.
Create and execute test cases; identify, document, and manage software defects.
Participate in test automation efforts; retest after fixes; maintain testing tools.

What you can expect in this role As a Spectrum intern, you’ll spend the summer working alongside two teams — your respective department and your intern peer group. Department and team-focused projects account for about 80% of your schedule. You’ll spend the other 20% on professional development sessions and networking activities, including the Kickoff Conference on May 27th, webinars, community service, cross-functional projects, and final presentations. The IT QA Intern will support quality assurance activities across the software development lifecycle Responsibilities include creating and executing test cases, managing defects, participating in test automation efforts, and analyzing business requirements The intern will work closely with senior QA team members and collaborate cross-functionally with Business Analysts, Project Managers, Developers, and Operations teams Daily tasks involve identifying and documenting software bugs, retesting after fixes, maintaining testing tools, and contributing to continuous process improvement—all while demonstrating attention to detail and a strong commitment to product quality
Required qualifications
Must be currently enrolled in an accredited College or University graduating with a bachelor’s degree between December 2026 - May 2027 Must have at least a 3.0 GPA or greater in current program Ability to travel locally to Spectrum intern development events and activities throughout the program Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship Preferred qualifications Familiarity with SDLC (Waterfall/Agile) Oracle SQL Java/Python Software testing and automation Understanding of LLMs Strong communication Professionalism Teamwork
