What You Will Do
As a QA Engineer embedded within the Core Tech Pod, you will be responsible for validating the foundational technologies, services, and systems that power our game ecosystem. You will design and execute comprehensive test strategies across gameplay systems, engine-level features, tools, backend integrations, and platform-critical functionality. Feature & Systems Validation Develop and execute manual and automated test suites for core gameplay systems, Unity engine components, client-server flows, and platform features. Conduct regression, integration, and exploratory testing to ensure stability across builds. Perform deep functional, integration, regression, performance, and compatibility testing across mobile devices and development environments. Validate behavior across multiple build configurations, feature flags, and environment setups (dev, staging, live). Core Tech QA
Gameplay & Systems Testing: Perform manual and exploratory testing across foundational gameplay systems to ensure functionality, responsiveness, and player experience consistency across all supported platforms.
Technical & Pipeline Validation: Test and validate technical frameworks, including asset pipelines, data integration, and backend systems, to guarantee stability and reliability in both live and development environments.
UI/UX & Presentation Quality: Evaluate the usability, clarity, and consistency of in-game interfaces and overlays, including menus, tooltips, notifications, and transitions, ensuring a seamless and intuitive player experience across devices and resolutions.
Player Flow & Accessibility: Validate onboarding, account creation, navigation flows, and internal deep-linking behaviours to ensure players can access and engage with all key features smoothly.
Web Services & Backend: Validate REST/GraphQL endpoints, authentication flows, telemetry events, matchmaking/session flows, and data integrity between client and backend services.
Tools & Developer Experience: Test internal tools, configuration dashboards, developer utilities, and workflows to ensure reliability and alignment with engineer and designer needs.
Quality Engineering & Advocacy: Contribute to improving QA processes, tooling, automation coverage, and test strategy for Core Tech while proactively identifying product, architectural, and workflow risks and communicating their impact. Champion best practices for engineering quality, data validation, and performance stability throughout the product lifecycle.
