Role & seniority: Student internship / working student in Device Software Division (Chemnitz, Germany); currently enrolled bachelor’s or master’s degree.
Stack/tools: Python; AI systems basics; version control (Git); remote instrument control and script/workflow generation; documentation.
Contribute to AI-powered features for automated test systems.
Implement and test software components using Python; assist in workflow design for script generation and remote instrument control.
Support documentation, participate in code reviews, and contribute to code quality and AI technique exploration.
Currently enrolled in Bachelors or Master’s in CS/Software Engineering or related field.
Strong Python proficiency.
Solid understanding of (agentic) AI systems; familiarity with Git.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and teamwork skills; strong communication; ability to work independently.
Fluent in German or English (written and spoken).
Experience with AI libraries/tools; scripting workflows; software documentation.
Prior exposure to test automation or instrumentation/control software.

Your tasks
Contribute to the development of AI-powered features for automated test systems. Help to implement and test software components using Python. Assist in the design and implementation of workflows for script generation and remote instrument control. Support the documentation of software components and user interfaces. Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving code quality. Contribute to research and exploration of new AI techniques and libraries.
Your Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Strong proficiency in Python programming. Solid understanding of (agentic) AI systems. Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git). Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Fluent German or English skills, both written and spoken.
