Salary: A$113,574 - A$125,720 / year
Role & seniority: Software Tester (Temporary Full-Time) within NSW Department of Education; initial term to 29 February 2028.
Stack/tools: Experience with test planning, functional/regression/integration testing; value in automation testing; familiarity with Value Edge, Selenium or Playwright is highly desirable.

About the role
As a Software Tester your role is critical in ensuring systems are high-quality, reliable and ready for release, supporting operational continuity across the department and schools. You provide expert advice and recommendations to resolve system issues, minimise risk and improve overall system quality and user experience.
Undertaking structured functional, regression, and integration testing. Developing and applying practical quality control tools, methods, policies and procedures Planning and designing detailed system test plans aligned to project requirements Collaborating with developers to support Test Driven Development and prevent defects Applying risk-based approach to improve system performance and experience Provide advice and third level support enquiries to resolve user reported issue

About you
Experience in software testing, developing comprehensive test plans and automation testing Strong critical thinking skills and a solution-focused approach to analysing complex issues, identify cause and recommend solutions Knowledge and hands-on experience using tools such as Value Edge, Selenium or Playwright is highly desirable Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in testing, defect identification and documentation. Essential requirements of the role
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Systems management or in a related discipline and/or equivalent relevant workplace experience. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
