We are looking for a QA Engineer who will also act as the Scrum Master (Technical Product Owner) for an engineering squad. This is a hybrid role combining technical leadership, process ownership, and team facilitation. The ideal candidate has a strong background in software quality assurance, experience with automation and performance testing frameworks (e.g., Gatling, Karate, JMeter, K6, RestAssured, Cypress, etc.), and a solid understanding of Agile delivery practices. Your day to day: Responsibilities as Leader QA As the QA lead, you will be accountable for driving our quality strategy and elevating testing practices across the project. Establish and champion QA standards, testing frameworks, and quality best practices. Guide, mentor, and support QA engineers, enabling them to grow technically. Evaluate current testing flows and propose improvements to efficiency, coverage, and reliability. Design and oversee test automation strategies using modern tools (experience with Gatling/Karate is a plus, but similar experience is fully acceptable). Define performance testing strategies and ensure systems meet scalability needs. Integrate automated tests into CI/CD and optimize for stability, speed, and flakiness reduction. Drive defect management, root-cause analysis, and continuous process improvement. Ensure quality is embedded throughout the SDLC (shift-left approach). Responsibilities as a Scrum Master (Technical PO) In your Scrum Master/Technical PO capacity you will support the team in planning, alignment, and delivery. Facilitate Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, refinement, daily stand‑ups, reviews, retrospectives. Maintain a healthy, ready, and well-documented backlog. Help translate technical needs into clear user stories and acceptance criteria. Work with developers, architects, and the business to refine scope and ensure technical clarity. Track team progress, identify impediments, and ensure timely resolutions. Promote continuous improvement, team transparency, and predictable delivery rhythms. Serve as a bridge between project needs and technical execution. What you'll bring to the team 8-12 years of experience in software QA (manual & automated). Strong understanding of QA methodologies, testing types, and quality processes. Experience with automation frameworks (e.g. Karate). Experience with performance testing tools (e.g. Gatling). Hands-on experience with microservices, REST APIs, CI/CD, and git-based workflows. Prior experience mentoring or leading QA engineers. Strong Agile knowledge; previous involvement in scrum facilitation. Excellent communication, ownership, and stakeholder coordination skills. Fluent in English.
