We are hiring levels 2-5. If you are interested in joining LM and working as a Systems Engineer, please apply to this requisition.
What does this role look like?
Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Systems Integration & Test Engineer with a strong background in assembly, integration, and test (AI&T) of complex aerospace or defense systems. In this role, you will support the build-up, integration, functional checkout, environmental test, and verification of spacecraft, subsystems, or mission-critical ground systems. You will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and test operations teams to ensure hardware and system-level configurations meet design intent and mission requirements.
This position requires hands-on engagement, technical rigor, and the ability to operate in fast-paced, highly controlled test environments supporting national security missions.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, execute, and oversee assembly, integration, and test activities for spacecraft, payloads, or ground mission systems. Develop and maintain test plans, test procedures, work instructions, and integration flows. Conduct hardware integration, cabling, mechanical assembly, electrical checkout, and system activation activities. Perform test execution including functional testing, performance testing, environmental testing (vibe, thermal vacuum), and end-to-end mission simulation. Support test readiness reviews, configuration management, and anomaly investigations. Lead troubleshooting efforts, document discrepancies, and support root-cause analysis and corrective actions. Maintain rigorous adherence to test safety protocols, cleanroom requirements, and handling procedures for sensitive hardware. Ensure verification evidence aligns with program requirements, test objectives, and compliance documentation. Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure integration sequencing aligns with system architecture and availability of components. Maintain accurate test data records, logbooks, and configuration documentation.
