Ensure adherence to the Group Quality Control Manual and prepare/approve Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs); obtain client or Authorized Inspector approvals as required.

Review drawings, specifications, MTRs, material receiving, welding maps/WPS assignments; verify welder qualifications and ensure welding parameters are followed.

Conduct/coordinate visual weld inspections, NDT requests, heat treatment, review NDE reports, manage non-conformance reports, and coordinate client/AI involvement and turnover documentation.

Main Responsibilities
Ensuring adherence to DCM'sGroup Quality Control Manual at project sites Review received technical drawings, specifications prior to work execution Preparation of Inspection and Test Plans (ITP’s) ensuring all quality control activities are identified for successful work execution, and obtaining client and/or Authorized Inspector (AI) approval(s) as required, Review and approve Material Requisitions Inspected received material for damage, review material against Material Test Report (MTR’s), verify MTR’s against code requirements, and generate Material Receiving Reports Generate and maintain accurate Material Heat Number Identification Maps and ensure correct material is being utilized during work execution Generate and maintain accurate Weld Identification Maps Assign correct Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) based to weld maps based on code and client specification requirements Verify welder qualification records against WPS, Weld Maps, Client Specification ensuring they are qualified for the welding being performed Ensuring welding consumables are being properly controlled Perform and document check to ensure welders are welding withing the parameters of the Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) Perform visual inspection of fit-up, in-process welding and completed welds to ensure compliance with the WPS, client specifications and code of construction, and documents the results Generate Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) request as required to ensure code and client specification compliance Generate Heat Treatment request for Bake-Out, Pre-Heat, and Post Weld Heat Treatment in accordance with WPS, code and client specifications, and review and sign off on charts when complete Review NDE reports (including Radiographic film) for accuracy, code, and client specification compliance Prepare and obtain client approval pressure test packages, review pressure testing requirements with DCM supervisor executing the test, and coordinate witnessing of pressure testing with the client and AI as required Verify that monitoring and testing equipment (pressure test gauges, chart recorder, welding machines, IR Thermometers, welding electrode oven thermometers, portable electrode ovens) have been calibrated in accordance with DCM Quality Manual and client specifications, whichever is more stringent Monitor mechanical equipment is installed to ensure installation is as per engineering specifications and vendor installation requirements Participate in audits performed by DCM corporate office, clients or AI Generate Non-Conformance Reports, as required Notify client and/or Authorized Inspector (AI) prior to starting and communicate upcoming ITP hold point sufficiently in advance, for them to attend Ensure compliance to DCM Quality Manual, ASME and CSA Codes, and client specifications Prepare and review turnover documentation Perform quality surveillance on vendors and subcontractors as required Promote a positive quality culture

Journeyman Trades designation would be an asset CWB Level 2 or 3 preferred with CSA W47.1 CSA W59, ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, and ASME VIII-1 & IX Graduate of Welding Engineering Technology (WET) or Material Engineering Technology (MET) preferred, but not required, Certified Technician (C.Tech.) and Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) Having taken the ABSA Pressure Equipment Safety Legislation (PESL) course would be considered an asset Training in ASME PCC-1 Bolted Connection would be considered an asset, with API-BFJI Bolted Flange Joint Inspector Certification would be preferred, but not a requirement at this time.
