This role spans blend electronics/PCB testing, mechanical and environmental validation, and systems integration testing, with strong emphasis on DVP&R ownership, hands-on testing, and support of third-party certifications including such as UL, CSA, CE, and EMC/EMI. The engineer translates product requirements into detailed test requirements, develops test methods, designs fixtures, and performs complex lab testing to ensure product safety, performance, and reliability. Travel includes routine trips between Plainville, CT (main office) and Boxborough, MA (10–15%) and regional visits to third-party certification labs (5–10%), for a total travel expectation below 20%. Candidates local to Boxborough MA will also be considered.

Essential Functions

Own the DVP&R: Develop comprehensive Design Verification Plans & Reports, including detailed test requirements, pass/fail criteria, sampling plans, and traceability. Lead cross-functional reviews with ME/EE/FW/Quality.

Hands-On Lab Validation: Execute functional, environmental, and reliability tests including thermal/humidity cycling, vibration/shock, pressure/vacuum, and ingress protection, using advanced instrumentation and chambers.

Electronics/PCB Test: Perform board- and system-level diagnostics using oscilloscopes, DMMs, power analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and DAQ systems.

Root Cause & Failure Analysis: Lead structured experiments, measurement system analysis, and cross-functional root cause activities; document findings and corrective actions.

External Lab Interface: Serve as technical owner during third-party testing; ensure test readiness, monitor execution, and validate test reports from accredited labs.

Support Regulatory & Compliance: Plan and coordinate CE/UL/CSA/IEC product safety and EMC/EMI testing along with the compliance engineer.

Documentation & Traceability: Produce accurate test protocols, data packages, deviation reports, and certification documents.
