Job Title: Quality Engineer
Job Description
As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) at our Brooksville, FL facility. You will ensure that the QMS is updated to comply with newly released standards and assist with internal audits across various facilities. Your role will involve driving continuous improvement strategies with a focus on process and product quality enhancements.
Responsibilities
Maintain and continuously improve the QMS at the facility, ensuring compliance with updated standards. Assist with internal audits at Florida facilities, adhering to relevant standards. Drive continuous improvement strategies focusing on process improvements and QMS enhancements. Facilitate Advanced Product Quality Planning techniques to achieve organizational product quality levels. Collaborate with Program Managers, Engineering, and Operations to ensure the smooth transfer of new products to production. Mentor and support the First Article Inspector and Quality Inspectors to ensure compliance with QMS and customer product specifications. Act as the Quality Department interface with customers regarding requirements such as PPAPs, validations, and complaints. Manage product inspection activities, including FAIs, PPAPs, validations, in-process, and final inspections. Review and approve employee evaluations, manage and encourage employee development. Represent and promote the organization's goodwill and interests within the community.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a Technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 4 years’ experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer in a manufacturing environment. American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification is recommended. Strong leadership and decision-making skills, with the ability to motivate others. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience with good manufacturing practices and quality initiatives. In-depth experience with QMS systems. Strong working knowledge of injection molding processes. Experience in implementing continuous improvement, lean, or other process improvement techniques. Strategic thinker with experience in statistical analysis and data trend identification. Ability to develop and maintain a team-oriented work environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to travel to other worksites or customer locations up to 20% of the time; must have a personal vehicle with a valid driver's license. Limited physical effort required; must be able to carry at least 30lbs. Ability to perform duties while seated; must be able to sit and type for long periods.
