SUMMARY: The Senior Quality Engineer ensures the overall quality of our manufactured products, throughout the product life cycle from development to new product manufacturing release and ongoing quality assurance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Implement methods to inspect, test and evaluate the reliability of manufacturing processes.
Lead audits of manufacturing processes to identify improvement areas to prevent quality issues.
Lead root cause analysis investigations and implement preventive and corrective actions to address quality issues.
Analyze and interpret quality data (defect rates, customer feedback, returns) to identify trends and develop plans for improvement.
Participate in new product introduction including development of control plans, PFMEA, and determine process capabilities.
Collect, analyze and monitor manufacturing data to evaluate current process and focus areas.
Develop and implement quality control measures to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
Drive continuous improvement on quality standards, manufacturing requirements and best practices.
Communicate issues and collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to implement change.
Lead cross functional team on development and implementation of QMS.
Adhere to quality system standards, ESD requirements and safety rules pertaining to the job.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
BS in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or related field.
5-8+ years experience electronic manufacturing quality engineering or similar job function.
Knowledge and experience leading root-cause analysis, such as Six Sigma or 8D.
Proficient in statistical analysis and data interpretation.
Proficient in quality management software and SPC reporting tools.
Demonstrated experience identifying and implementing quality control measures.
Demonstrated change management skills; experience successfully implementing and supporting a quality-focused culture.
Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
Effective written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
Familiar with lean principles.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Minimal noise. Our facility includes a manufacturing environment. Moderate noise level. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to wrist and shoe straps, and ESD smock.
