Full Description
We are looking for a QA Engineer with a strong commitment to quality and a passion for building reliable, scalable solutions. In this role, you’ll support the day‑to‑day quality assurance activities for a customer‑facing motor insurance product, contributing to the development and improvement of automation across both web and mobile platforms.
You will help shape and maintain the squad’s test automation approach, contribute to mobile automation practices, and work closely with senior team members to deliver high‑quality, timely updates across quote‑to‑buy journeys, mobile applications, and customer portal features.

Salary: £48,000 - £50,000 Depending on experience
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
What you will be doing
Develop and maintain automated test suites using Playwright (web) following established framework standards Write reliable, maintainable automation scripts aligned with squad needs and wider QA guidelines Identify automation opportunities for quote, buy, and portal journeys in collaboration with Senior QA Execute automated tests within Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines and troubleshoot failures Contribute to API test automation for backend services and third-party integrations Execute mobile automation using Maestro, following established best practices, based on squad needs. Perform mobile testing across iOS and Android using BrowserStack, TestFlight, and Intune Test native mobile app functionality, including offline behaviour, push notifications, and device-specific scenarios. Own end-to-end quality for squad deliverables, including functional, regression, integration, and cross-browser testing Collaborate with Developers, Product Owners and Business Analysts to ensure requirements are testable and understood Execute exploratory testing and risk-based testing for new features and complex changes Validate integrations with payment gateways, enrichment services, and external data providers Participate in process improvement, Udemy trainings, test case and automation code reviews. Aim to become functional SME of the squad/Product group Contribute to QA community practices, knowledge sharing, and documentation Track and report quality metrics (defect leakage, automation coverage) with guidance from QA Lead/Tech Lead Actively participate in sprint ceremonies, providing QA input on estimation and planning Suggest process improvements within the squad
What we are looking for
Experience of Automated test suites e.g. Playright (web) Knowledge of BrowserStack, Testflight, and Intune for mobile testing would be desirable Demonstrable knowledge of Azure DevOps CI/CD Pipelines Abitlity to work within cross functional teams Skilled in Functional, Regression, Integration and cross-browser testing Experience in defining and tracking quality metrics
