Overview
We are seeking a Software Test Engineer to support test planning, test execution, and integration activities across hardware and software systems. This hands-on role involves the development of test plans and procedures, execution of test events, issue investigation, requirements verification, and collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams. The engineer will also interface with end customers during formal testing and sell-off events.
This position operates in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, onsite engineering environment.
Primary Mission
Execute software and hardware test activities, support integration, and ensure systems meet requirements through thorough, repeatable test planning and verification.
Key Responsibilities
Develop test plans, test procedures, and automated test tools for multiple software and hardware programs Perform hands-on testing of hardware and software components Identify, isolate, and document defects; collaborate closely with development teams to resolve issues Support hardware/software integration efforts in a Linux/VxWorks environment Track, verify, and validate system requirements Interface with customers and stakeholders to support formal sell-off events, integration tests, and acceptance activities Participate in issue resolution meetings, readiness reviews, and sprint activities Document and report test results using standard test tracking tools Support occasional travel for integration and test events
Required Qualifications
Active Secret clearance Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM discipline 5-8 years of test or engineering experience (or MS + 3 years)
Experience with software development in C Familiarity with embedded systems Experience with Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence Background in quality assurance or configuration management Familiarity with test automation development and scripting
