Role & seniority: Test Automation Engineer (mid–senior level)
Stack/tools: API test automation; design/maintenance of automation frameworks; integration with CI/CD; testing identity, authentication, authorization, and session-management workflows; regulated financial services context
Define and implement robust automation strategies aligned to enterprise banking standards
Design, build, and maintain scalable API test frameworks; validate auth/session workflows
Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and ensure regulatory/governance alignment; perform root cause analysis and support defect resolution
Strong hands-on API test automation experience
Proven ability to design and maintain automation frameworks
Experience testing identity and session-based services; secure delivery in regulated environments

We are supporting a leading financial services organisation in hiring a Test Automation Engineer to help deliver secure, resilient, and high-performing digital platforms.
Working within a regulated environment, you will take ownership of automation strategy and execution, ensuring systems that support customer identity, authentication, and core digital journeys are rigorously tested and release-ready.
The Role You will play a key role in advancing automated testing across critical applications, partnering closely with engineering, architecture, product, and risk teams to embed quality throughout the development lifecycle.
Skills & Experience Strong hands-on API test automation experience Proven expertise in designing and maintaining automation frameworks Experience testing identity and session-based services Understanding of secure delivery within regulated financial environments Exposure to mobile testing and performance/load testing (highly desirable)
This is a hybrid role based in Manchester or Northampton, requiring 2 days a week in the office.
