Role & seniority: Senior Automation/Test Engineer (ATE) focused on automotive electronics validation
Stack / tools: Python; automated test solutions with internal software, low-level firmware, data management platforms, and electromechanical hardware; automation instrumentation (programmable power supplies, multiplexers, DMMs, signal analyzers/generators, multifunction devices); vehicle comms (CAN, CAN-FD, DoIP, Automotive Ethernet, LIN); industrial buses/protocols (USB, VISA, GPIB, Ethernet, Serial, RS-485, SPI, I2C); reading schematics/PCB layouts; testing frameworks
Define test requirements with electronics design teams and align testing strategies
Develop custom Python test sequences per the automation framework; create well-documented test cases and procedures
Collaborate with validation, reliability, EMC, and product launch teams to ensure test solutions meet needs and are deployable in manufacturing
5+ years designing automated test equipment (ATE) for electronics
Strong Python programming
Reading electrical schematics, navigating PCB layouts, understanding datasheets
Experience with CAN/CAN-FD/DoIP, Automotive Ethernet, LIN; industrial buses/protocols (USB, VISA, GPIB, Ethernet, Serial, RS-485, SPI, I2C)
Experience deploying automated test equipment in manufacturing
Familiarity with automation instrumentation (power supplies, multiplexers, DMMs, analyzers, generators)

In this role, you'll be part of the team responsible for functional validation and testing of electronic control units (ECUs) including telematics, infotainment, battery management, ADAS, and zonal Electronic Control Units (ECUs). Our team builds custom automated test solutions that include internal-facing software, low-level firmware, data management platforms, and custom electromechanical hardware. These solutions get deployed internally within R|V Tech and at external labs and contract manufacturing facilities.
