About UL Solutions’ Wireless Testing Technician Seasonal Role
Join UL’s industry-leading wireless testing labs for a hands-on experience in a dynamic, fast-paced, and customer-focused environment. You’ll work alongside experts in Specific Absorption Rate (SAR), Radio Frequency (RF), or Millimeter Wave ( mmWave ) testing, contributing to the evaluation of cutting-edge wireless devices.
UL Solutions labs are known for their innovative equipment design and rigorous quality standards. This is a great opportunity to gain real-world experience in wireless technology testing while collaborating with a passionate team.
Seasonal Shifts & Schedules
SAR Testing (May – Mid August)
Automated robot-assisted testing of wireless devices.
Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 6 days/week
1st Shift: 6am–6pm
2nd Shift: 6pm–6am
RF Testing (May – End of July)
Hands-on testing using state-of-the-art RF equipment across various technologies.
Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 5 days/week
1st Shift: 4:30am–4:30pm
2nd Shift: 4:30pm–4:30am
Millimeter Wave Testing (End of March – Mid July)
Radiated wireless testing using hardware/software automation.
Training Period (4–6 weeks): Flexible shifts (8am–12pm, 1–5pm, or 5–9pm)
Peak Season: 12-hour shifts, 3–4 days/week
1st Shift: 4:30am–4:30pm
2nd Shift: 4:30pm–4:30am
Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate and monitor wireless device tests using lab equipment. Record and interpret test results; assist in report preparation. Follow defined test plans and procedures. Communicate with engineering teams and customers during testing. Learn and apply technical skills in a collaborative lab setting.

QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 18 years old at time of application. Indefinite right to work in the U.S. No prior experience required—comprehensive training provided. Must be able to work on-site in Fremont, CA (relocation not provided). Must have reliable transportation to and from Fremont office

Total Rewards: The hourly rate for this position is $25 /hr for all hires. Members of the night shift benefit from an 8% shift differential in hourly pay, which also compounds with overtime.
