Full Description
Role description This is a Test scenario creation and execution-focused (hands-on) contract role for a professional with at least 10 years of experience. You will be dedicated to verifying applications built upon Salesforce, Bullhorn, C++ and can largely be accessed via API as well as different interfaces. Your primary focus (~75%) will be safeguarding quality through meticulous test design, complex system integration testing (SIT), and manual exploratory testing. The remaining (~25%) of your time will be spent creating API tests for testing the integration of application Iplan with x-one.
Alongside execution, you will serve as a supportive senior presence on the test floor.
What will you do within the x-one program?
Functional & End-to-End Testing Core (~75% of the role)
● Test Script Design: Independently draft advanced test scripts in Gherkin within TestRail based on global release notes and local user stories.
● Hands-on Execution: Execute deep manual functional, configuration, and exploratory tests to validate business-critical flows on Salesforce and iPlan
● Integration & SIT Validation: Validate complex local connections (such as API-driven endpoints via Boomi or Apigee) to ensure data integrity across the entire local E2E chain.
● Defect Management: Log and track formal software defects thoroughly inside Jira, acting as a strong sparring partner for developers during re-testing.
● Acceptance Support: Actively support local business streams and users during Functional Acceptance Testing (FAT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by preparing test data and helping guide execution.
● Team Mentorship: Support, train, and coach junior and medior QA testers on-the-job to enhance their testing techniques and functional analysis skills.
Test Automation Support (~25% of the role)
● Risk-Based Selection: Analyze delivered epics to identify the highest-risk business scenarios and tag them within TestRail for inclusion in the automated regression suite.
● Pipeline Execution: Trigger and run automated smoke tests and API test scripts (using tools like ) immediately following environment deployments to ensure platform stability. ● Automation Collaboration: Collaborate closely with dedicated Test Automation Engineers, flagging when existing automated scripts require refactoring due to changes in application UI or workflows.
● API & Microservice Savvy: Deep experience with automated testing of REST APIs and navigating a microservices/domain services architecture (using libraries such as like RestAssured or similar).
Who will you collaborate with?
● Reporting line: You will report directly to the local Test Manager / Domain Manager of the x-one program.
● The Project Team: Work daily alongside internal QA Testers, dedicated Automation Engineers, Developers, and Product Owners within your agile squad.
● Stakeholders: Connect with local Dutch IT domain experts (RGN IT), global business flow leads, and global QA counterparts to sync on release expectations.
What do you bring?
Requirements
● Experience: A minimum of 10 years of proven experience as a Test Analyst or QA Engineer in large-scale, complex enterprise environments.
● SaaS Ecosystems: Demonstrable experience testing within Salesforce implementations and connected platform tools
● Analytical Mindset: Strong capability in applying risk-based testing methodologies, such as Product Risk Analysis or Risk Poker frameworks.
● Tool & Method Sync: Strong working knowledge of Jira, TestRail, and Gherkin syntax.
● Automation Context: Practical familiarity with writing, running and analyzing automated API tests
● Languages: Fluent at writing and speaking in English (essential for navigating local integrations and global organizational alignment).
