Role & seniority: Sensor Systems Engineer (senior/experienced) specializing in inertial MEMS sensors; based in Finland (Espoo).
Stack/tools: MEMS inertial sensors (gyroscopes, accelerometers), ASIC, packaging, software (SW); data analysis in MATLAB or Python; sensor system design and test concepts; cross-functional collaboration with ASIC/ HQ.
Define test strategy and drive implementation of test procedures and infrastructure for sensor performance (MEMS, ASIC, package, SW).
Define test definitions and perform verification of overall sensor performance; plan, organize, implement, evaluate and analyze complex experiments and measurements.
Understand failure modes and develop solutions to meet target requirements; document results and present in project reviews to stakeholders and customers.
Strong interdisciplinary understanding and collaboration across groups/cultures.
Deep experience with gyroscopes/accelerometers and MEMS-based sensor systems.
Practical proficiency in sensor-system test concepts and statistical data analysis (MATLAB or Python).
Fluent English (spoken and written).
Master’s degree in Microsystems Engineering, Microelectronics, Physics, IT, or similar (PhD welcome).
Additional cross-functional experience with ASIC and product definition support.

We drive innovative engineering projects from concept phase until high-volume mass production. With our industry-leading products, we enable real-time motion detection, indoor navigation, gesture and activity recognition as well as optical image stabilization (OIS).
To strengthen our growing Finland development center location in Espoo we are looking for motivated candidates with expertise in the field inertial sensors and sensor systems.
You participate in the enabling of exciting use cases in consumer technology! You coordinate interdisciplinary areas for the development of the next generation of sensors from development to mass production.
You are responsible for test definitions and verification of the sensors overall performance, including MEMS, ASIC, package, testing and SW.
You define the test strategy and drive the implementation of test procedures and infrastructure
You plan, organize, implement, evaluate and analyze complex experiments and measurements
You have a good understanding of failure modes in order to develop solutions to achieve the sensor target requirements
You document the results and present these in project reviews with internal stakeholders and to customers.
With your base in our Finland location you have close interaction with ASIC development as well as established close interlinks to the HQ in Reutlingen. You support marketing and sales in the product definition and in the assessment of the competition.
Personality: High level of interdisciplinary comprehension, customer orientation, creative drive and entrepreneurial mindset. Interpersonal experience with cross-group and cross-culture collaboration.
Working Practice: Very good decision-making abilities and positive team player with cross cultural competence.
Experience: Strong industry experience with deep demonstrable understanding of gyroscopes and acceleration sensors, ideally MEMS-based systems.
Qualifications: Understanding of sensor system design and related test concepts and strategies. Solid practical experience and proficiency in statistical analysis and data evaluation in Matlab or Python.
Languages: Fluent English, both spoken and written
Education: Master or equivalent degree in Microsystems Engineering, Microelectronics, Physics, Information Technology or similar major. PhD graduates are welcome to apply.
