About The Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst to join our User Acceptance Testing (UAT) team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products that meet client specifications and internal standards. The successful candidate will support various testing activities, including manual and automated testing, to validate software functionality, performance, and reliability. Working closely with cross-functional teams across the US, Spain, and Poland, the QA Analyst will help build, improve, and execute test cases, automate testing processes, and contribute to continuous quality improvements within an Agile environment. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. A foundational understanding of software testing principles, test case design, and defect management is essential. Exposure to web services testing, particularly RESTful APIs, and some automation experience using tools such as JMeter, Postman, Python, or Playwright is advantageous. Familiarity with XML, JSON, and web concepts like HTTP methods will be beneficial. Candidates should be quick learners, adaptable to various testing methodologies, and passionate about quality assurance practices. Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are necessary, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with local and offshore teams. Knowledge of Agile development and Jira for task management is preferred. Additional useful experience includes familiarity with property and auto insurance underwriting, attention to detail, analytical thinking, and eagerness to learn new tools and technologies.
Responsibilities
The QA Analyst will be responsible for executing and improving test plans, test cases, and test scripts for web and API-based applications. This includes designing and refining how test cases are written, stored, and executed, including regression tests. The role involves running manual and automated tests to certify builds and new features, as well as participating in various testing types such as functional, backend, data-driven, UAT, and REST API testing. The analyst will assist in identifying, documenting, and tracking defects using tools like Atlassian Jira, contributing to the continuous improvement of QA practices and team efficiency. Supporting testing activities within Agile sprints, attending stand-ups, retrospectives, and collaborating with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to ensure quality standards are met are key aspects of the role. The candidate will also contribute to maintaining and enhancing automated test suites, evaluate usability and functionality, and help improve working methodologies, including Lean Six Sigma. Additionally, maintaining comprehensive QA documentation, including test results, reports, and process improvements, is part of the responsibilities. Time management skills are crucial to meet critical deadlines and deliverables.
