    • Develop, automate, execute, and maintain test assets for assigned WLM NPD feature/test areas per standards/plan.

    • Detect and report defects early with accurate, traceable, reproducible results and supporting data/steps.

    • Perform failure analysis support: collect logs/data, run debug experiments, and complete analysis tasks under guidance.

  • Must-have skills:

    • Optical communication test environment setup/maintenance.

    • Familiarity with Python or equivalent for automated tests.

    • Proficiency reading/writing technical English and collaborating with global teams.

    • Knowledge of JIRA, Git, and tools used in test/dev workflows (incl. CI/CD).

    • 1+ years testing or development in Computer/Network/OTN/DWDM (or related field).

  • Nice-to-haves:

    • Automation tool design experience; DWDM/OTN product testing.

    • Knowledge of optical module testing (e.g., EDFA, OCM, WSS).

    • Familiarity with DWDM/OTN operation, maintenance, and broader optical/

Your Job

TD Engineer is a core individual contributor in the Test Development organization, responsible for developing, executing, and maintaining high‑quality test assets for WLM New Product Development (NPD).

What You Will Do

Test Development & Execution: Develop, automate, and execute tests for assigned features or test areas; Follow defined test plans, frameworks, and standards; Ensure test results are accurate, traceable, and reproducible;

Early Defect Detection & Reporting: Detect issues within assigned test scope as early as possible; Report defects with clear reproduction steps and supporting data

Failure Analysis & Issue Resolution: Support FA by collecting logs, data, and running debug experiments; Execute analysis tasks under guidance;

Engineering Discipline & Efficiency: Follow Global TD process, version control, and documentation standards; Maintain assigned test assets with good quality; Contribute to efficiency improvements within existing frameworks;

Collaboration & Technical Leadership: Collaborate effectively with peers and cross‑functional partners; Continuously learn product architecture and test methodologies; Share learnings and improvements within the team Work closely with senior engineers and leaders to mentor, guide, and oversee the work of junior engineers and external contractors, ensuring correct execution and quality delivery.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

EDUCATION

REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Automation, Networking, Electrical or Optical Engineering, or a related engineering field, or equivalent practical experience.

WORK EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED: 1+ years testing or development experience in Computer/Network/OTN/DWDM and related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

PREFERRED: Design experience of automation tools and testing of DWDM/OTN related products

SKILLS & ABILITIES: (If the nature of the position requires certain certificates, they should be specified here)

REQUIRED

Proficient in setting up and maintaining optical communication test environments. Proficient in reading and writing English technical documents, with the ability to collaborate effectively with global team members. Familiar with Python or other programming languages for developing automated test suites. Familiar with JIRA, Git, and other CI/CD‑integrated tools used in development and test workflows.

PREFERRED

Working knowledge of optical module design or testing (e.g., EDFA, OCM, WSS). Working knowledge of DWDM / OTN system operation, maintenance, and testing. Familiar with test methodologies for a wide range of optical and hardware‑related performance metrics. Fluent in spoken English for technical communication.
