**Top 3 responsibilities: **

Execute manual and automated software validation tests on HIL systems for HV battery applications

Analyze deviations/anomalies, investigate failed/incomplete test sequences, and validate run completeness/correctness

Produce structured documentation and validation evidence (reports/status/deviations) in DOORS/Codebeamer; report results to stakeholders

Full Description
We are looking for a talented and motivated HIL Test Engineer - Battery Management Systems (BMS) to join our customer’s team in Braunschweig, Germany, supporting the functional validation of software for high-voltage battery systems in an automotive development environment. Fluent German (written and spoken) is mandatory, as the role involves test execution, analysis, reporting, and close collaboration with German-speaking stakeholders.
Responsibilities Perform manual and automated software validation tests on dSPACE and Micronova HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) systems for high-voltage battery applications. Execute test cases according to defined test specifications and validation procedures. Analyze test execution results and identify deviations, anomalies, and unexpected system behavior. Verify the completeness and correctness of test runs and investigate failed or incomplete test sequences. Document test activities, findings, and deviations in a structured and traceable manner. Create and maintain test reports, status reports, and validation evidence within DOORS and Codebeamer environments. Work with industry-standard automotive tools including EXAM, CANoe, CANape, ODIS, and DiagRA. Support the validation and quality assurance of software functions related to battery management systems. Collaborate closely with development, testing, and project teams to ensure software quality and compliance with requirements. Contribute to continuous improvement of testing methodologies, processes, and test coverage.
Required Qualifications Completed vocational training in Electrical Engineering or a Technician degree in a relevant technical field. Hands-on experience in software testing and validation within automotive or embedded systems environments. Experience with HIL testing using dSPACE and/or Micronova platforms. EXAM Certification. ISTQB Foundation Level Certification. Practical experience with CANoe, CANape, ODIS, DiagRA, Codebeamer, and DOORS. Ability to analyze, evaluate, and document test execution results. Strong problem-solving skills and a structured approach to troubleshooting and validation activities. Hands-on mentality combined with a high level of autonomy and ownership. Excellent German language skills, both written and spoken.
Nice-to-Have Knowledge of traction battery systems and Battery Management Systems (BMS). Experience in high-voltage automotive systems and electrified powertrain technologies. Previous involvement in software validation projects for electric vehicle applications. Experience working within Bosch, OEM, or automotive supplier environments. Familiarity with requirements management and traceability processes. Knowledge of automotive communication protocols and diagnostic tools. Experience with automated test execution and test result evaluation. Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary engineering teams.
