Locations: Jersey City, NJ and Dallas, TX W2 Employment The Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) within IT FinSight Delivery is responsible for designing, developing, and executing scalable testing solutions that ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of mission-critical platforms across Financial Risk Management, Treasury, and Fixed Income Clearing. This role blends strong software engineering skills with deep testing expertise to drive an automation-first quality engineering strategy. You will partner closely with developers, product owners, and DevOps teams to embed testing early in the development lifecycle and enable continuous delivery. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test strategies aligned to business requirements and user stories Build and maintain robust automated test frameworks and scripts (UI, API, and backend) using Selenium and Java Develop and execute end-to-end, integration, regression, and performance test scenarios Write and optimize complex SQL queries to validate data integrity and backend processes Work with developers to pick up code logic and ensure comprehensive test coverage Test data management - Create and maintain test data to handle various test scenarios including corner test cases Ensure traceability from requirements through test cases to automation coverage Ability to work in cross functional agile teams and contribute to process improvement Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify risks, resolve defects, and improve quality outcomes Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket) to enable continuous testing Analyze test results, track defects, and provide clear, actionable reporting on quality metrics Manage test environments, test data, and dependencies to ensure smooth execution cycles Drive best practices in quality engineering, automation, and test design across teams Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building a strong quality engineering culture Ensure adherence to risk and control frameworks, regulatory, and compliance requirements Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience 3+ years of experience in software testing, automation, or quality engineering Strong programming skills in Java, Python, or similar object-oriented language Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks (Selenium or equivalent) Proficiency in SQL and data validation techniques Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Micro Focus ALM, Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies Key Skills & Competencies Automation-first mindset with a focus on scalability and maintainability Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a global delivery model Effective communication with both technical and business stakeholders Knowledge of UI and backend testing strategies Experience with test frameworks, CI/CD integration, and modern QA practices

Understanding of testing types: smoke, regression, functional, and non-functional testing

Preferred: Experience in Capital Markets / Financial Services domain
