About the Role
CGM is seeking a Team Lead QA Automation (m/w/d) to lead its QA Automation team and define the test automation strategy across multiple testing levels, including unit, integration, system, stress, and performance testing. The role combines technical leadership, people development, and hands-on engineering to ensure scalable, high-quality software delivery. You will work closely with Engineering and Product Management to establish shift-left, automation-first, and risk-based testing approaches. The successful candidate will bring strong technical credibility, leadership experience, and an interest in AI-native test automation, including the use of Claude Code and AI Agents to improve test generation, maintenance, and triage.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical and disciplinary leadership for the QA Automation team. Define and implement the test automation strategy across unit, integration, system, stress, and performance testing. Partner with Engineering and Product Management on the team's delivery and quality commitments. Establish shift-left, automation-first, and risk-based testing approaches within the development process. Design scalable test automation frameworks, harnesses, and CI/CD pipelines. Remain hands-on with technical development where it provides significant value. Drive AI-native test automation initiatives. Use Claude Code and AI Agents for test generation, test maintenance, and test triage. Establish reusable AI-assisted skills and workflows for the QA Automation team. Mentor QA Engineers and continuously raise the team's technical standards. Contribute expertise to the AIS DE QA community.
Required Qualifications
Demonstrated leadership experience in test automation. Strong technical credibility and the ability to develop a senior QA team both professionally and personally. Completed university degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Informatics, or a comparable technical field, with very good academic performance. Strong experience with multi-layered test frameworks. Experience with CI/CD. Experience with load and performance testing. Strong programming skills in at least one language such as C#, Java, Python, or TypeScript. Demonstrated effective use of AI in a QA environment. Fluent German and fluent English, both written and spoken. Strong problem-solving skills. High level of proactivity and innovation. Entrepreneurial mindset aligned with CGM's healthcare purpose and responsibility for patient safety.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Informatics, or a comparable technical field. Experience with CGM's relevant technology stack, including Qt, .NET, MariaDB, or Gematik TI. Experience with security testing and penetration testing. Experience with Claude Code or similar agentic AI tools. Experience working with AI Agents, Skills, and Workflows. Experience designing AI pipelines, test harnesses, and Context Engineering solutions.
