The Opportunity

  • CACI is seeking a Software Test Lead and Manager for the GEOINT Tradecraft Suite, a mission-critical platform delivering advanced geospatial intelligence capabilities to national security users. In this role, you will lead software test strategy and execution, while also serving as the people manager for a small team of 3 test professionals. There will be a strong focus on developing an automated testing strategy.
  • You will work closely with software engineers, product owners, mission users, DevSecOps, and program leadership to ensure high-quality releases that meet operational needs. This position combines hands-on test leadership with direct people management and offers the opportunity to shape quality practices, mentor team members, and improve delivery outcomes across the program.

Responsibilities

  • Lead test planning, coordination, and execution for GEOINT Tradecraft Suite capabilities across multiple releases and development increments.
  • Define and maintain test strategy, test plans, test cases, test data needs, and traceability to requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Oversee functional, integration, system, regression, and user acceptance testing activities.
  • Partner with engineering and product teams to identify quality risks early and drive defect prevention throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Support Agile ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure test readiness and release quality.
  • Track defects to closure, verify fixes, and communicate quality status, risks, and release readiness to program leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to improve test efficiency through automation, tooling, metrics, and process refinement.
  • Serve as the functional manager for a team of 3 testers, including workload planning, performance management, mentoring, career development, and day-to-day support.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and mission-focused team culture aligned with program and company objectives.
  • Help recruit, onboard, and develop test talent as program needs evolve.
  • Support customer demonstrations, readiness events, and operational validation activities as needed.

Qualifications

Required

  • Hold an active TS/SCI clearance; a polygraph is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or test engineering for complex software systems.
  • Two or more years of experience leading test teams, test efforts, or cross-functional quality activities.
  • Experience building and executing test plans for web-based, service-based, or enterprise software systems.
  • Experience working in Agile software development environments.
  • Strong understanding of defect lifecycle management, test documentation, release readiness, and quality metrics.
  • Experience collaborating effectively with developers, product owners, systems engineers, and program leadership.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present quality status and risks clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to balance hands-on testing leadership with team management responsibilities in a fast-paced mission environment.

Desired

  • Experience supporting GEOINT, ISR, intelligence analysis, or other mission systems in the national security domain.

  • Experience with automated test frameworks and CI/CD-integrated testing practices.

  • Experience testing microservices, APIs, containerized applications, and cloud-hosted or hybrid environments.

  • Familiarity with DevSecOps pipelines and modern software delivery practices.

  • Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, GitLab, Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Postman, or similar testing and collaboration platforms.

  • Experience supporting formal verification, accreditation, or operational test events.

  • Prior experience mentoring junior testers or building small high-performing QA teams.

  • There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is

  • $99,300 - 208,600 USD
