Full Description

Position Summary The Battery Systems Triage Engineer supports design and release teams across manufacturing and battery assembly operations. Working closely with BMS SW and HW leads, Pack Integration, Module DREs, software engineers, chief engineers, and build coordinators, you will ensure high-voltage batteries clear End of Line (EOL) testing at the CTC Pilot Plant. You will lead system-level battery issue triage, driving root-cause resolution to maximize overall build efficiency.

Key Responsibilities Conduct Battery EOL testing for high-voltage batteries assembled at the CTC Pilot Plant, managing issue troubleshooting, tracking, and documentation. Analyze EOL data using Vector CAN tools, INCA, or plant tester diagnostics, combining software analysis with physical inspection and electrical measurements for root-cause problem solving. Manage module voltage variation correction via charging, charting, and inventory tracking to optimize pack assembly. Execute BPCM/CSC flashing and communication protocols to ensure proper pairing and pack optimization. Support change control processes and establish clean points, performing part relabeling or off-line re-flashing as needed. Document system requirements, best practices, and lessons learned in collaboration with BMS engineering and Pack Integration. Lead pilot vehicle triage and system-level battery pack/vehicle communication troubleshooting.

Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Proven systems engineering knowledge combined with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to rapidly resolve technical issues. Hands-on experience with data acquisition and diagnostic development tools (e.g., INCA, Vector tools, CANalyzer). Proficiency in application engineering principles. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong team orientation, proactive attitude, process discipline, and high attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 2–3 years of automotive or industry experience. Direct experience with High Voltage (HV) battery systems or HV powertrain architecture. Expertise in electronic system-level troubleshooting and embedded controls/complex function root cause analysis. Solid grasp of diagnostic fundamentals. Extensive hands-on proficiency with INCA, CDA, CAN, CANalyzer, CANoe, and electrical diagnostic equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes).
